The Spirit of Realizing a Noble and Valuable Campus (68th Anniversary of UNDIP)

Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, SE, MSi

Rector of UNDIP

Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) continues to strengthen its reputation as a noble and globally competitive university. UNDIP is currently ranked #624 globally in the QS World University Ranking, for 2026, and nationally occupies the 6th position. In the UI GreenMetric ranking, UNDIP has consistently maintained the second position in Indonesia for the last five years since 2020, and occupies the 4th position in Asia and 26th in the world in 2024. The 68th Anniversary of Universitas Diponegoro is a reflection of UNDIP’s long journey as a university that continues to transform into a world-class university that at the same time makes a real contribution to society. This success is not only about reputation, but also about UNDIP’s commitment to protecting the campus environment and its contribution to the global development sustainability agenda.

As a noble and valuable campus, UNDIP also presents various innovations for the welfare of the community. Among them, seawater desalination technology that has helped the fulfillment of clean water in coastal areas of Central Java such as Jepara, Demak, Blora produces around 200,000 liters of clean water per day for the local community, and has been welcomed with great enthusiasm by many regional heads in Indonesia. The development of plasma technology such as D’Ozone to help farmers remove pesticide residues and preserve agricultural products. Community service programs are also being encouraged, covering the fields of health, clean water, sanitation, and food security, which are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — especially SDG 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing) and SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation). On the internal side of the campus, UNDIP continues to improve by building and renovating such as academic and non-academic support buildings, arranging green parks that are increasingly beautiful and neat, and new facilities to support student learning and activities to strengthen a comfortable and productive academic environment.

The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) UNDIP has taken part in this wave of change. Through collaborative research with partners from South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, and other countries, FPH has produced nationally and internationally recognized publications and innovations. Organizing international training for students and lecturers in insect control. International community service for food security for small, micro and medium enterprises. In the realm of community service, FPH UNDIP has also helped to address strategic health issues in accordance with SDGs targets both at the local, regional, and national levels. Community empowerment with the development of satellite Posyandu to contribute to stunting reduction. Including collaborating with foreign universities and the community in malaria control in Purworejo. The momentum of the Grand Reunion of FPH UNDIP Alumni contributes to the community with social activities such as poverty alleviation, the implementation of free health checks for new students and the surrounding community, and establishes cooperation with the Provincial Health Office to expand the impact of its intervention. This confirms the role of FPH UNDIP as an institution that not only excels academically, but also has an impact and is directly beneficial to society.

Dr. Budiyono, S.KM., M.Kes.

Dean of FPH UNDIP

At the age of 68, UNDIP has always been noble by being a university with a global reputation as well as an institution that truly provides real benefits and impact to society. UNDIP is noble through achievement and sustainability, has an impact through innovation and service, and is valuable through concrete contributions to the welfare of the community. In this trip, the Faculty of Public Health Universitas Diponegoro also plays an active role through international collaborative research, community service programs in the field of public health, and initiatives that support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Hopefully this spirit will continue to be maintained and strengthened by the entire UNDIP academic community. Happy 68th Anniversary of Universitas Diponegoro, hopefully it will be more noble and valuable for the nation and the world.

Jaya, Jaya, Juara!
