Indonesia is one of the countries that still have a high caseload of parasitic diseases. Various types of parasites that are often found include parasitic worms, protozoa, insects, and fungi, so efforts are needed to control this parasitic disease.
Effective efforts to control parasitic diseases require a lot of roles from various sectors. One of them is from the Education sector through various studies conducted. To increase knowledge related to the control of parasitic diseases, the Department of Epidemiology and Tropical Diseases, Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Diponegoro carried out Visiting Professor activities with the topics “The Recent Updates of Parasitic Diseases and the Control Strategy”.
The Visiting professor activity was held online on October 10, 2022, by inviting Prof. Dr. Siti Nursheena Binti Mohd Zain a lecturer from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. In this activity, various latest information related to the control of parasitic diseases was provided, and also interactive discussions related to control strategies were carried out in Malaysia. Through this activity, many participants received new material, especially the comparison of parasitic disease control strategies between Malaysia and Indonesia, so that it could be an input for innovative parasitic disease control strategies that can be applied in Indonesia.
