Seoul, South Korea – The Master of Epidemiology Study Program at the Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University (FKM UNDIP), has initiated an international collaboration with the Seoul National University (SNU) and Yonsei University from January 15-21, 2025. This collaboration was represented by Dr. Muh Fauzi from FKM UNDIP, Prof. Yoo Won-Gi from Seoul National University and Prof Jeon Bo-Young from Yonsei University.

Initiation of Collaboration with Seoul National University

On January 15, 2025, Dr. Muh Fauzi met with Prof. Yoo Won-Gi to discuss the development of joint-degree, double-degree, and non-degree programs between Master of Epidemiology Study Program FKM UNDIP and College of Veterinary Medicine SNU. Additionally, both institutions discussed a joint supervision program for Master of Epidemiology students.

As a follow-up to these discussions, on January 17, 2025, an Implementation Arrangement was officially signed between Seoul National University and FKM UNDIP. This agreement marks a concrete step toward strengthening academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.

Initiation of Collaboration with Yonsei University

In addition to Seoul National University, Master of Epidemiology Study Program FKM UNDIP also initiated collaboration with Yonsei University on January 19, 2025. In a meeting with Prof. Jeon Bo-Young, discussions were held on the development of double-degree and non-degree programs for Master of Epidemiology students. The discussion also covered a joint supervision program to enhance academic and research quality. As a result of this meeting, on January 21, 2025, FKM UNDIP and Yonsei University officially signed an Implementation Arrangement as a foundation for future collaboration. Also, agreement has been made to establish the Research Center of Global Infectious Diseases at FKM UNDIP.

This collaboration is expected to enhance academic and research partnerships between FKM UNDIP and prestigious institutions in South Korea. With joint-degree programs and joint supervision, Master of Epidemiology students at FKM UNDIP will gain broader international academic experiences and strengthen their competencies in epidemiology and public health, which will be beneficial to society – Locally Grounded, Global Empowered. This partnership also reflects FKM UNDIP’s commitment to improving higher education quality through global cooperation, ultimately contributing significantly to the development of public health sciences in Indonesia and internationally.
