LECTURER OF FACULTY OF PUBLIC HEALTH UNIVERSITAS DIPONEGORO FOLLOWS THE STAFF EXCHANGE PROGRAM TO UNIVERSITI MALAYA TO INCREASE LECTURERS’ CAPACITY AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

Universitas Diponegoro is one of the universities in Indonesia which has proclaimed itself as a research-based university with an international reputation. According to the QS world university ranking, indicators of international reputation include academic reputation, citations/paper per faculty, faculty/student ratio, employer reputation and international staff ratio. Citation/paper per faculty is one of the important indicators in higher education institutions ranking. Achieving a high ranking of citations/papers per faculty requires efforts to develop the resources of higher education institutions, in this case lecturers, who follow international standards and comply with higher education regulations in Indonesia.

Staff Exchange is one of the programs towards World Class University through international research collaborations and joint publications. In addition, through staff exchange, it can be a means of academic internationalization for students too. The staff exchange was followed by staff in the field of epidemiology and diseases of FKM Undip namely Dr. Ir. Martini, M Kes to Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. These activities include initiating research collaboration in the field of arthropod-borne diseases with the Faculty of Biology, the Center for Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Practice, the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, and the Tropical Infection Diseases Research and Education Center (TIDREC). The activity was carried out for 3 weeks,from November 22 to December 16 2022.

The University of Malaya is one of the leading universities in the world, ranked 59th in the worldwide ranking of campuses based on The QS World University Rankings 2021. The University of Malaya is an educational institution that is known in the world for the quality of its Human Resources (HR) international standard, equipped educational facilities, as well as a very comfortable campus environment and atmosphere. One of the research centres at the University of Malaya is Research on Arthropoda borne disease, the Tropical Infection Diseases Research and Education Center (TIDREC). It is hoped that research collaboration can be established to increase the number and quality of joint publications.
