Faculty of Public Health UNDIP Demonstrates Commitment to Global Health at SEAOHUN 2024 Conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Semarang, September 2024 — The Faculty of Public Health of Universitas Diponegoro reaffirmed its strong commitment to global health by actively participating in the international conference organized by the Southeast Asian One Health University Network (SEAOHUN) on September 18-19, 2024, in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This marks FKM Undip’s second participation in the prestigious event, which brings together practitioners and professionals from various disciplines to share knowledge and innovative solutions for global health challenges.

Dr. Ir. Martini, M.Kes, representing FKM Undip, highlighted various innovative programs that have been implemented to address health issues in Indonesia, particularly in Semarang City. In her presentation, she stated, “The successful application of the One Health approach in controlling Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Semarang is not only an achievement but also a model that can be adapted to tackle other zoonotic diseases. This is a tangible example of how cross-sector collaboration can create significant impacts.”

FKM Undip’s participation extended beyond faculty members, with student representatives also involved in the event. The program was designed to provide students with the opportunity to engage in international discussions, broaden their perspectives, and develop the skills needed to compete on the global stage. Through this experience, students are expected to become future agents of change in the health sector.

“By equipping students with knowledge and skills through international experiences, FKM Undip aims to produce graduates who are not only prepared to face local challenges but also capable of making significant contributions in a global context,” added Dr. Budiyono, Dean of FKM Undip.

The SEAOHUN conference also featured a variety of panel sessions and workshops that brought together key stakeholders in the health sector, strengthening collaborative networks among universities and health institutions across Southeast Asia.
