Faculty of Public Health Successfully Hosts International Teaching Fellowship Programme to Enhance Global Competitiveness

Semarang, 11 September 2025 – Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has successfully organised the International Teaching Fellowship Programme from 3 to 6 September 2025. This initiative featured Professor Ts Dr Shamsul Bahari Shamsudin from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) as the visiting lecturer, supported by Prof. Dr. Ir. Mursid R, M.Si from the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) at UNDIP. This activity is part of UNDIP’s World Class University (WCU) programme and was designed to enrich students’ learning experiences through international perspectives, whilst supporting UNDIP’s objective to improve its International Faculty indicator in the QS World University Rankings.

The International Teaching Fellowship Programme represents a strategic endeavour by UNDIP, as a world-class research university, to invite internationally renowned foreign academics to elevate educational quality and global competitiveness. The presence of international lecturers is anticipated to add significant value to student learning, introducing innovative teaching methods and global insights relevant to contemporary dynamics. Furthermore, the programme aims to hone students’ competencies in critical thinking, adaptability, and solution-oriented approaches, thereby preparing them to compete effectively in national and international labour markets.

This initiative aligns with UNDIP’s vision as a leading university that contributes substantially to high-quality education and societal development.

The key activities conducted during the programme are outlined below:

In addition to academic sessions, the programme included a City Tour on Friday, 5 September 2025, from 13.00 to 17.00 WIB, and a Join Fun Walk with alumni and the UNDIP Rector on Saturday, 6 September 2025, from 06.00 to 17.00 WIB. The event concluded with Professor Shamsul’s return to Sabah on Sunday, 7 September 2025.

Through this programme, UNDIP not only strengthens international collaborations but also fosters sustainable knowledge exchange. The success of these activities is expected to serve as a foundation for similar initiatives in the future, supporting the university’s aspiration as a centre of excellence in education and research.
