Faculty of Public Health Lecturer from Universitas Diponegoro Strengthens Research Collaboration Through Staff Mobility at Chulalongkorn University

Bangkok, Thailand – Dion Zein Nuridzin, BsPH, MPH, a lecturer from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Diponegoro, Indonesia, has successfully completed a productive Staff Mobility programme from 1–5 December 2025 at the School of Global Health, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.

Dion was warmly received by Professor Kiat Ruxrungtham, Director of the School of Global Health, together with Dr. Bumi Herman, who graciously served as supervisor and host for the duration of the mobility. The initiative originated from a proposal submitted by Dion to Dr. Bumi Herman, which was enthusiastically accepted, paving the way for this focused academic exchange.

Fully funded by the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Diponegoro, the five-day programme centred on intensive discussions and collaborative writing on hypertension-related health inequalities in Indonesia – a critical public health issue driven by social, economic, and access-related disparities.

The mobility has established a solid platform for sustained partnership between the two institutions, with the following key outcomes and future plans:

  • Joint development of research manuscripts and proposals addressing social determinants of hypertension in Indonesian populations

  • Pursuit of international research grants to support multi-year collaborative projects

  • Planning for reciprocal activities, including visiting lecturer exchanges and expanded staff/student mobility

Dion Zein Nuridzin, BsPH, MPH, remarked:

“The exceptional hospitality and intellectual environment provided by the School of Global Health team made this visit extraordinarily valuable. This mobility has not only accelerated our work on hypertension inequalities but has also created meaningful opportunities for ongoing collaboration between Universitas Diponegoro and Chulalongkorn University.”

This Staff Mobility reflects Universitas Diponegoro’s commitment to internationalisation and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
