FKM UNDIP INITIATES THE FORMULATION OF A MALARIA CONTROL STRATEGY IN COLLABORATION WITH THE IBUKOTA NUSANTARA’S AUTHORITY

The Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Diponegoro initiated the Preparation of a Policy Document for the Malaria Control Strategy in the Ibukota Nusantara (IKN). This initiation is a follow-up to the MOU between Universitas Diponegoro and the Nusantara Capital Authority, and the Cooperation Agreement between the Faculty of Public Health and the Directorate of Basic Services of the Ibukota Nusantara’s Authority (OIKN). This Policy and Strategy was prepared based on the results of research on the Molecular Characteristics of Malaria Vectors in the IKN area, conducted by Prof. Dr. Ir. Mursid, M.Si, Moh. Fauzi, SKM, M.Ph, Ph.D, Dr. Sulistyani, M.Kes, and other research teams. Other research results came from the Tanah Bumbu Health Lab, South Kalimantan, the North Panajam Paser Health Office (PPU) and the East Kalimantan Provincial Health Office.

The Directorate of Basic Services of OIKN, provides supporting data and policies in the form of the Strategic Plan Document for the IKN 2025-2030. The preparation funds came from the collaboration between Universitas Diponegoro through the World Class University (WCU) Fund, the Sustainability program, and the activities of the World of Work and Industry Cooperation. The OIKN provides meeting facilities and accommodation for activities.

In his remarks, Dr. Suwito, SKM, M, Kes, as the director of basic services gave his appreciation to Universitas Diponegoro, which initiated the preparation of this policy and strategy. This document will then be processed to obtain legal force in the form of a Regulation of the Head of Authority which is equivalent to a Ministerial Regulation.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Mursid, M.Si said that this Strategy Policy was prepared in reference to the global malaria control policy, the National Malaria Control Policy, and the Strategic Plan for the Capital of the Archipelago. The Integrated Vector Management (IVM) approach as a direction in compiling documents, paying attention to the development of IKN as Spong City, Smart City, and Forest City. The concept of modern technology concepts is proposed in vector control, to create an eco-friendly, sustainable, smart, and liveable city.
