Yogyakarta, July 25, 2025 – The Master’s Program in Epidemiology with a concentration in the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP), Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University (FKM UNDIP), once again demonstrates its role in the national epidemiology scene. Through active participation in the 12th National Scientific Conference of Epidemiology (NSCE) held from July 21–25, 2025 in Yogyakarta, FETP UNDIP reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the capacity of Indonesia’s epidemiology professionals.
NSCE is an annual scientific forum initiated by FETP Indonesia under the coordination of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. This year, the conference carries the central theme of “Strengthening Epidemiology for National Health Resilience,” highlighting strategic issues in epidemiology in facing the challenges of climate change and digital transformation.
Four FETP UNDIP students passed the selection and appeared as presenters at this forum: Sabrina Daniswara (class of 2023 – oral presenter), Zulfa Shalsabilla (class of 2023 – oral presenter), Arlyn Manggar Sari (class of 2024 – poster presenter), and Dwi Susanti (class of 2024 – oral presenter).
During the three days of the conference, participants were presented with in-depth material on: The Impact of Climate Change on Disease Epidemiology (day one), Climate Change and Non-Communicable Diseases (day two), and The Role of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in Disease Surveillance (day three).
During the presentation sessions, FETP UNDIP students delivered the results of field-based epidemiological investigations conducted during their placements. Their studies not only demonstrated sharp analytical skills but also tangible contributions to disease control in various regions. The atmosphere grew more festive during the FETP National Night on July 24, 2025. FETP students from all over Indonesia showcased their respective cultural performances. FETP UNDIP presented the Goyang Semarang Dance, which was warmly received by the conference participants.
A proud achievement was attained by Dwi Susanti (class of 2024), who was named the 3rd Best Oral Presenter thanks to her presentation at the outbreak investigation event titled “Mumps Outbreak Investigation – Revealing the Incidence in Semarang Regency in 2024.”
This participation and accomplishment serve as concrete evidence of the commitment of the Master’s Program in Epidemiology, FKM UNDIP, in producing resilient, adaptive, and collaborative field epidemiologists who are capable of responding to global health issues in a contextual manner.
